In January 2007, Jessica Ingram-Bellamy joined Better World Advertising; a San Francisco based social marketing and advertising firm, as Co-Director of its New York City office. “I am proud to be part of Better World Advertising (BWA), as it has created some of the most talked about social marketing media campaigns in the last decade and has become the leading social marketing and advertising firm in the country,” says Ingram-Bellamy. As Co-director of the New York City office Ingram-Bellamy is responsible for new business development, and the creation and management of client campaigns on the east coast.
Founded in 1996, Better World Advertising has worked strictly with nonprofits, colleges, universities and government agencies for the last 11 years creating powerful, penetrating and, at times, controversial messages about public health and social justice issues. Since its inception, BWA has launched over 100 social marketing campaigns across the country
dealing with different social causes and movements. Recent notable campaigns include: “I AM GAY” the highly talked about anti-homophobia campaign produced in partnership with the New York State Black Gay Network, “Don’t Write Me Off: Foster Kids Are Our Kids,” “Don't Erase Your Future,” and “HIV STOPS WITH ME,” winner of multiple Webby and Telly Awards.
Ingram-Bellamy has over twelve years of experience with social welfare, public policy, social marketing, and external affairs. She most recently served as director of external affairs at Helene Fuld College of Nursing at North General Hospital (in Harlem). She has also worked as senior marketing/communications consultant for the national headquarters of the Girls Scouts of the USA, a corporate grants officer with the Mutual of New York Foundation and as a community liaison for former New York City Mayor David N. Dinkins.
Ingram-Bellamy’s international experience includes service as a Winant-Clayton exchange volunteer with the Globe Centre in London, England, and as a global development consultant with the Office of the Prime Minister of Mozambique, Africa. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree from Columbia University. She also completed the Women’s Campaign School at Yale in 2006, and has been a featured non-profit management speaker with The New School for Social Research, Columbia University School of Business, and the Columbia University School of Social Work, and a social marketing presenter at several conferences around the country.
She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Cornell Black Alumni Association (CBAA), the Women’s City Club of New York, and a board member of the Friends of Harlem Hospital Center.
